Welcome to Trini Girl Reads.
My name is Francica from the beautiful Caribbean islands Trinidad and Tobago.
Reading is one of my favorite things to do in my spare time so I thought that I should share my passion for books online.
I read a wide range of genres historical fiction, fantasy, romance, crime, thrillers. Recently I like reading books from the wider world like Asia and Africa.
Of course I cannot leave out the fact that I love books from the Caribbean.
So visitors, I hope you enjoy my blog as I plan to share my passion for reading.

Hi Francica,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kia-Marie. I'm a fellow Trini in Trinidad and Tobago who loves to read as well. There are very few reading blogs in Trinidad and Tobago so this is very cool. In your review policy you stated that you read all Caribbean books. I don't have a book to publish or anything like that. That's not what this comment is about. I'm interested in getting your opinion about Caribbean literature.
A lot of people have said that Caribbean literature books are kind of not relatable to present day and the Caribbean is way more developed than stories in those books. Also we watch and read alot of US/UK media and books. So we tend to read more fun genre novels than traditional Caribbean literature books.
Just wanted to know if you enjoy reading old school Caribbean literature? Like VS. Naipaul, Earl Lovelace, Sam Selvon, CLR James?
Welcome Kia Marie to my blog. I love the old school Caribbean Literature however there are a lot of good contemporary local and Caribbean books as well on a wide range of relatable topics. I feature some here from time to time.
