Synopsis

Alex Simpson, an ex-police officer, decides after a bout of typhoid fever to take a break in a serene and therapeutic environment. The last thing he expects is to be called upon to solve a murder at the Kinging Guest Lodge. But that is what happens, when the delectable and vivacious Maria Marshall is found dead in her bedroom, murdered at midnight.

The gallery of characters living at the guesthouse and thrown into the mix, do not make his task of solving this chilling and brutal murder any easier …

My Review

This novel is short and action packed.

A very exhilarating story for persons who enjoy mysteries.

The story was set in a hotel in Nigeria, where only months before the mysterious death of a guest led to most being afraid to visit.

Undeterred, retired policeman Alex Simpson (who was a guest at the hotel at the time of the death), decided to return to his favorite vacation spot for a rest. Now yet again, there is another murder. This time of a beautiful young woman named Maria.

Could the murderer be among them?

Desperate to solve the mystery, Alex takes on an independent search on his own however, startling revelations have only deepened his desire to uncover the truth, The ending is shocking and unexpected.

Although this was a short story the writing was well done. This book was very easy to follow and it keeps your interest till the very end.

I look forward to reading more stories like this in the future and more from this author. I would highly recommend this book.

Special thanks to the publisher for sending me a free e copy of this book for review.
